Scoring Methodology

How UTUBESEO Works & Calculates Scores

Full mathematical transparency on how our video SEO scores are calculated, what data we directly observe, what we estimate, and what no tool can predict.

Transparent Score Disclaimer: The UTUBESEO Score is an internal optimization checklist based strictly on the parameters evaluated by this software. It is not an official YouTube metric and does not represent an internal YouTube ranking weight.

1. The 100-Point Mathematical Formula

Our scoring engine evaluates six distinct dimensions of a YouTube video upload, totaling a maximum of 100 points:

Title Optimization20 Points Max

Assesses length (45–70 characters optimal), early keyword placement (first 20 chars), sentence casing, and avoidance of spammy all-caps shouting.

Description Architecture20 Points Max

Verifies depth (minimum 300+ words), primary keyword in first 150 characters (above the fold), and clear calls to action.

Keyword Alignment20 Points Max

Evaluates tripartite consistency (keyword present in title, description hook, and tags) while penalizing keyword stuffing (>3.5% density).

Tag Coverage20 Points Max

Evaluates tag volume (8–15 tags), presence of multi-word long-tail phrases, and strict compliance with the 500-character ceiling.

Readability & Structure10 Points Max

Tests sentence complexity, paragraph breaks, and scannability so viewers don’t encounter an unreadable wall of text.

Completeness & Engagement10 Points Max

Detects structured chapter timestamps (00:00), social/subscriber links, and legal FTC sponsorship disclosures.

2. Observed vs. Estimated Data

Directly Observed Data (Deterministic)

  • Exact character and word counts of titles and descriptions.
  • Calculated sum of tag characters against the 500-char boundary.
  • Regex match for timestamp syntax (e.g. 00:00, 01:30).
  • Exact string matching of target keyword tokens.
  • HTTPS link detection and FTC disclosure terms.

Estimated Models (Probabilistic)

  • Keyword search relevance percentage.
  • Estimated competitor saturation and difficulty levels.
  • Mobile feed truncation likelihood on varying screen resolutions.
  • Predicted viewer reading ease level.

What UTUBESEO Cannot Know

We pride ourselves on honesty. No software outside of Google’s internal infrastructure can know:

  • Your video’s actual audience retention curve before or after publishing.
  • The private demographics or geographic preferences of your returning subscribers.
  • Exact daily search query volumes on YouTube (YouTube does not provide an exact numerical search API).
  • Whether your video will “go viral” or be picked up by the Browse features.
